2026 Wildfire Emergency Loan Program

The 2026 Wildfire Emergency Loan Program provides emergency financing to assist businesses and organizations in Washington State within Tri County Economic Development Districts region impacted by the 2026 wildfire events. Funds are intended to support recovery, stabilization, and continuation of operations while other recovery resources are pursued.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants may include businesses, nonprofits, agricultural operations, and other qualifying organizations licensed in Washington State that have experienced documented wildfire-related impacts within Tri County Economic Development District (TEDD)'s Revolving Loan Fund service area.

What can the loan be used for?

The loan may be used for working capital, inventory replacement, equipment repair or replacement, facility repairs, temporary operating expenses, and other approved wildfire recovery expenses.

How quickly will my application be reviewed?

TEDD is committed to providing rapid assistance to wildfire-affected businesses. Applications will be reviewed in-house, typically the same or next business day after receipt, and most complete application packages will receive a funding decision within five (5) business days of submission.

Is there an application fee?

No. There is no application fee for the 2026 Wildfire Emergency Loan Program.

What are the loan terms?

The 2026 Wildfire Emergency Loan Program offers loans from $2,500 to $25,000 with a low fixed interest rate of 5.00% and repayment terms of up to 60 months. TEDD may authorize first initial payment deferral of up to 90 days when appropriate. Borrowers may repay all or part of their loan at any time without prepayment penalties.

What documentation will I need?

Applicants should be prepared to provide the following:
• Completed Loan Application Packet with Valid Proof of Identification
• Most Recent Business Tax Return
• Current Financial Statement or Sales Summary
• Personal Financial Statement
• Three (3) Months of Business Bank Statements
• Current Debt Schedule, bids, estimates, invoices, and/or receipts
• Documentation of Wildfire Impacts, such as photographs, insurance claims, evacuation notices, closure notices, revenue loss documentation, or other evidence of economic injury.
Note: Additional information may be requested during underwriting. Complete applications help speed up processing.

What security or collateral is required?

To help protect Program funds and ensure responsible stewardship of the Revolving Loan Fund, all loans approved under the 2026 Wildfire Emergency Loan Program will require the following:
• Unlimited Personal Guarantees from all owners holding a twenty percent (20%) or greater ownership interest in the business.
• A UCC-1 Financing Statement securing available business assets.
Depending on the size, complexity, and risk profile of the loan request, TEDD may require additional collateral or security as deemed appropriate.

Will there be a credit check?

TEDD will conduct a consumer and/or business credit review as part of the application process. Credit information is evaluated together with the overall circumstances of the request, including the business's wildfire-related impacts and ability to repay. A credit check helps TEDD evaluate repayment ability and is only one factor considered in the loan review process. A less-than-perfect credit history will not automatically disqualify an applicant.

Is funding limited?

Yes. TEDD has allocated up to $500,000 for the 2026 Wildfire Emergency Loan Program. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to program eligibility and availability of funds. Individual loan amounts range from a minimum of $2,500 to a maximum of $25,000 per loan.

Is there a deadline to apply?

Applications for the 2026 Wildfire Emergency Loan Program will be accepted throughout the 2026 wildfire season, subject to the availability of funds. TEDD reserves the right to suspend or discontinue accepting applications at any time once available program funds have been exhausted.

Can I apply if I have insurance coverage?

Yes. Insurance proceeds and other assistance programs will be considered when evaluating unmet recovery needs.
