Republic, WA Workshops Scheduled for National Program to Grow Outdoor Recreation and Revitalize Downtown
Republic, Washington has been selected to participate in the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities (RERC) program, a national initiative that helps rural communities strengthen their outdoor recreation economy while supporting local businesses and downtown vitality.
Over the coming months, Republic will work with a team of technical assistance providers and agency partners to develop a community-driven action plan focused on connecting outdoor recreation assets with economic opportunity. This effort will build on the area’s strong foundation- its public lands, trails, and outdoor experiences- while identifying ways to enhance quality of life for residents and create a welcoming environment for visitors.
As part of this process, community members are invited to participate in a two-day workshop on May 19–20 at the Stonerose Interpretive Center. The workshop will include a public meeting and a collaborative work session where participants will help shape a shared vision, identify priorities, and outline practical next steps for the community.
Whether you’re a business owner, recreation enthusiast, or community member, your voice is an important part of this conversation.
